A little of this & a little of that

I got to have breakfast with the girls yesterday. Yay! It has become difficult for us all to get together. You know that thing called life? Yeah, well we each have our own and it tends to sometimes take over and it becomes a challenge to make time for each other. Well, finally after planning about an entire month in advance, we were able to make it happen. Woot woot! I missed E's baby shower because I had to go out of town. So this breakfast made for a good time to gift. I made a baby wash cloth and hooded towel set for her. Before you see the pictures of them, I need to remind you that I have not used a sewing machine since home economics class in the seventh grade. I attended my ten year high school reunion two years ago...that should give ya an idea of how long it's been! So, needless to say, she did not receive pristine or anywhere near perfect stitching on these towels or cloths. {sigh} I wish I could have made better...but it is what it is. My mother in law actually had to do the binding on the towel because I was about to throw in the towel...haha...get it? Too corny? :)

I found the tutorial here.
As it turns out, she had made a baby blanket for him in the same fabric! I had no idea!

It was so nice out today...for the first time in...well, I don't know. Yeah sure, we've had nice, sunny, warmer weather days. But there has been so much rain that even with the nicer, sunny day, there was almost always a soggy, wet ground! Yuck! We decided to take advantage of this change. Hubby had to work for a few hours today. After he was home, we packed up and headed for the park. Where we enjoyed a cookout in the sunshine and warmth. Of course, I had to stop by walmart first to pick up sunscreen. I burn just at the thought of a sunny day! So SPF 100 it is! And even though my kids don't necessarily need that high an SPF, that's what they got lathered in (spackled in if you ask my hubs) today.

And some photo's with the girlies after breakfast yesterday....YES they are both pregnant, NO I am not...I just marry happily with all things yummy!
