Per Sittercity.com, babysitters in this area should be charging $10.50 hr on average. I thought this was pretty high but when I checked a couple of profiles of sitters in this small town, I saw that the average charge was $7-$14 hr. I've been told that I am over charging and I am NOWHERE NEAR these rates. So I'm just curious what do you pay a sitter? Does it go by a weekly rate or an hourly rate?
I'm glad I don't need babysitters anymore. I was recently paid $5/hr to babysit one child. If I could make $14/hr, I might have to start babysitting again.
